From the first phone call to the keys back in your hand.
Booking a mobile mechanic for the first time is a small leap of faith. Here is the full process, end to end, so you know what you are getting into before you book.
Six steps. About a week from first call to invoice.
Some jobs are faster (same-day breakdowns, simple battery swaps). Some take longer (cooling-system overhauls that need a part ordered in). The shape of the process is the same.

Tell us what is happening
· 2 minutesCall us on 0451 159 954 or use the quote form. Give us the make, model and year, the suburb you are in, and a plain-English description of what the car is doing. The more detail, the more accurate the quote.
- 2
Get a fixed-price quote
· During business hoursWe come back with a written fixed-price quote. The quote covers parts, labour, fluids and any consumables. If the job needs an on-site diagnostic first, the quote will say so and the diagnostic fee is credited against the repair.
- 3
Pick a time and place
· Same week typicalYou choose a day and a location. Home driveway or office car park. Most weekdays we have same-day or next-day slots. Bigger jobs (water pumps, suspension overhauls) are usually 2 to 4 days out. We confirm by SMS the day before.
- 4
We arrive at the agreed time
· On the dayYou will get a text when we are 30 minutes away. We turn up in a clearly-marked service van with the right parts already on board for the job we quoted. We need a safe spot to work and an introduction to the vehicle, that is it.
- 5
The work happens
· 1 to 4 hours typicalYou are welcome to watch or to head back inside, whichever you prefer. We text you if anything unexpected comes up. Most jobs are 1 to 4 hours. If a job is going to run long, we tell you well before it does.

Walk-through and payment
· 15 minutesWhen the job is done, we walk you through what we did, hand back the keys, and you pay by tap, transfer or invoice. The itemised invoice lands in your email within minutes, with the warranty terms attached.
What we bring, and what you do.
Mobile work has a different rhythm to a workshop visit. You do not lose your day. The van is set up so we can do almost everything a workshop can, in your driveway.
What is on the van
The right parts for the quoted job (and common consumables) and the workshop manual for your specific model.
What you do on arrival
Hand over the keys, point at the car, and tell us anything new you have noticed since you booked. That is it. If you want to watch or to ask questions during the job, you are welcome to. If you want to go back inside, you are welcome to do that too.
What you do during the job
Whatever you want. We text you if anything unexpected comes up. Most customers go back to work, the kids, or the kettle. Some sit and chat. Either is fine.
How payment works
When the job is done we walk you through what we did, then take payment by tap, insert or bank transfer. An itemised invoice lands in your email within minutes.
What you get after
An itemised invoice with the warranty terms attached. If the job affects your logbook (we did a logbook service or a major repair), the book is stamped before we leave. For services, we email a service reminder before the next one is due.
What first-time customers ask.
Do I need to stay with the car while you work?
No. We just need a quick hand-off and a chat about what is happening. Then you go back to whatever you were doing. We text you when we are done and walk you through what we did before we leave.
Where do you actually work on the car?
Wherever the car is. The most common spot is the customer's home driveway. Office car parks work too, as long as there is enough room beside the car and the building allows it. Apartment carparks are usually fine. The two things we need are: enough working room around the vehicle, and a safe, level surface to jack up where required.
What if it rains on the day?
Light rain we work in (the van has a side awning for parts and tools). Heavy rain or a thunderstorm we reschedule, because the work has to be done safely and properly, and slipping on a wet driveway with a wheel in your hand is neither. We do not charge for weather-rescheduled jobs.
What if you find something extra during the job?
We stop, take a photo, and call you with a fixed quote for the extra work. You decide whether to proceed. Nothing gets added to the bill that you have not agreed to in advance. Most of the time the extra work is minor (a worn hose, a noisy bushing) and the call takes 2 minutes.
How do I pay?
Tap or insert with the card reader, bank transfer, or emailed invoice with 7-day terms (agreed in advance). We do not store card details. Payments are processed by a third-party provider.
What if I need to reschedule?
No problem if it is more than 24 hours out. Send us a message or call us. Same-day cancellation terms are in our Terms & Conditions, but we would always try to reschedule with you first.
What do you actually bring on the van?
The right parts for the job we quoted, plus the common consumables (oils, fluids, filters, gaskets). A torque wrench and the workshop manual for your model. Pretty much everything a workshop has, just on wheels.
Now you know how it works.
Send us your details and we come back with a fixed-price quote during business hours.
